I wish my employers, or all employers really, would stop treating their employees as if they are doing them a favor. This is a trade. An even exchange. We both expect certain things of each other. Don't expect me to hold up my end of the bargain but think you are exempt from holding up yours.

My male charge talks incessantly. I put a lot of work into coming up with activities that exhaust his energy and don't involve much talking. It's a win-win because he's having the time of his life and I don't have to pretend to be interested in his ramblings.

I think my employers are having money problems. Time to start looking for a new job.

I'm a black nanny to white children. I HATE how everyone stares at us when we go out in public. Sometimes I actually worry that someone will think I kidnapped them and call the police.

The other day, the toddler didn't want to leave my arms to go to her mother. I scramble for a way to clean it up so MB wouldn't feel bad but I couldn't think that fast. I feel terrible for MB.

If I don't give the kids a bath, they won't get one.

DB and I have become allies because we both know MB is useless and unreasonable. We give each other silent but knowing looks all the time when she's on a tear.

MB is always undermining my authority with the kids. She's not rude or blatant about it but I think she can't stand for them to be upset. It makes my job harder. I wish she would just WOMAN UP!

DB is always throwing his wife under the bus to me. He does it jokingly but I know he's miserable with her.

MB is terrible when it comes to doing homework with her daughter. She gets really impatient with her when she doesn't get it but if we're being honest, MB can barely understand the homework herself. I always find a reason to go elsewhere when it's homework time. It's so cringeworthy.
